OLIVET MISSION NEEDS: School Supplies: by the First week in August, (no pencils), crayons, scissors, washable magic markers, dry erase markers, notebook paper (loose leaf, wide & college ruled), folders, 5-subject notebooks, spiral notebooks (wide & college ruled), white Elmers glue, glue sticks, erasers, backpacks, pencil cases, kleenex, 3-ring binders, watercolor paints, school supply boxes, compasses, protractors, and calculators (basic function & scientific).
Olivet also provides food from their food bank. They are in need of nonperishable items such as peanut butter, canned soups, canned meats, cereal, canned spaghetti sauce with meat, pasta, canned juices, powdered milk, etc.
Other services provided by Olivet Mission: ONM is now a partner with HACAP and is a Family Resource Center, providing a one-stop source of many services. Clients can take their child(ren) to preschool, sign up for various programs available to low income persons, shop at the Clothes Closet and use the Emergency Food Pantry.
The Clothes Closet, located in the ONM building, is open 8:30 to 11:30 AM Tuesday through Friday and 9 to 11:30 AM on Saturday (excluding holidays or in the case of severe weather). During open hours only, donations are accepted of clothing (sized infant through adult), clothing accessories, kitchenware, and small appliances. The phone number for the Clothes Closet is 364-7946.
ONM's other programs include: Headstart Classes (call 221-1484), Coats for Kids, Holiday Adoption Programs (Thanksgiving & Christmas), Emergency Food Pantry, After-School Program (Mon.-Fri., excluding holidays, 3:45 PM - 5:45 PM), Summer Recreation Program for kids, Adult Support & Learning (meets monthly at the church; coffee & rolls provided - free food available), and the SHARE Food Program.
