What should you expect when you visit Christ Church? First, you will notice that we are a casual group. We don’t care what you wear or if it’s the first time you’ve been in a church. So, come as you are whether you are married, divorced, single or widowed! If you have children, bring them too. We love children and hope that they can also come and enjoy Sunday School. We will be happy to have you visit and hope when you leave, you will be happy you came and hope you will have met God in some way that day.
As you enter the church, you will first be greeted by someone in our elevator entryway. They should direct you to whatever area of the church you wish to visit. If you are early and have a few minutes, please come down to Fellowship Hall and have a cup of coffee with us. It’s always warm and there is always a discussion going on in the morning, although you should note that we have not yet solved all of the world’s problems.
You might also want to take a look at some of the downstairs rooms that include Sunday School rooms, library, Harbor Room. We have an elevator, for your convenience, that will deliver you to our upstairs which includes the music room, office, adult Sunday School, nursery and our sanctuary. We might mention here that we do have a childcare attendant every Sunday for babies and little ones.
As you enter the sanctuary, you will be warmly greeted and given a bulletin for the service. The bulletin is your guide to the service. It will tell you what we are reading, when the choir sings, when the children go up for the children’s sermon, who we are praying for, a reading from the Bible that will tell you about what the pastor’s sermon (message) is about and all the particulars to help you understand our service. At the close of the service, the pastor gives the benediction (or blessing) as we go into the world for another week. We hope you will spend the following week feeling God’s loving arms around you and remembering Christ Church as a place where you felt wanted and you want to be again the next Sunday.
After church, please come down to Fellowship Hall and have some coffee and cookies on us. If we're having a potluck, come stay and eat. There's ALWAYS enough and we want to meet you. Bring the kids too or come on your own.
There is a place for you here.
