WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN YOU VISIT
First, you will notice that we are a casual group. We don’t care what you wear or if it’s the first time you’ve ever been in a church. So, come as you are! We love children and hope that they come, too.
As you enter the church (parking is on the north side), you will first be greeted by someone at the door. They will direct you to whatever area of the church you wish to visit. You might also want to take a look at some of the downstairs rooms that include Sunday school rooms, the library, or the Harbor Room (a small conference room). We have an elevator, for your convenience, that will deliver you to the upstairs which includes the music room, office, adult Sunday school room, nursery, and the sanctuary (worship space). There is a childcare attendant every Sunday for little ones.
As you enter the sanctuary, you will be greeted and given a bulletin for the service. The bulletin is your guide to the service. It will tell you what we are reading, when the choir sings, when the children go up for the children’s moment, who we are praying for, a reading from the Bible that will tell you about what the pastor’s sermon (message) is about, and all the particulars to help you follow along. At the close of the service, the pastor gives the benediction (or blessing) as we go into the world for another week. We hope you will spend the following week feeling God’s loving arms around you and remembering Christ Church as a place where you felt you belong.
After worship, please come down to Fellowship Hall and have some beverages and treats. If there is a scheduled meal, please stay and eat. There's ALWAYS enough, and we’d love to meet you. There is a place for you at Christ Church.
